International Capitalism Day

The first Sunday of JUNE each year is International Capitalism Day.

In 2009, Capitalism Day will be on Sunday June 07.

From New York to Nairobi, from London to Lahore, from Gothenburg to Gdansk, many thousands of individuals, families, and groups from every walk of life, from every corner of the globe have participated and shown they are willing to stand up proudly for worldwide freedom and prosperity.

Through hundreds of media outlets our peaceful and positive message - our invitation to consider a new, glorious vision - continues to reach millions of thoughtful individuals.

Capitalism Day and the Celebrate Capitalismâ„¢ campaign continue to grow.

History

The first ever Capitalism Day was organized by PRODOS and colleagues in Melbourne, Australia back in the 1980's.

By 1999, as the project grew, the newly formed PRODOS Institute Film Society presented "The World's First Ayn Rand Film Festival" - screening We The Living, The Fountainhead, and Ayn Rand: A Sense of Life.

With the increasing popularity of the pro Capitalist PRODOS.COM internet radio show (this was before podcasting), along with the success of the worldwide Walk FOR Capitalismâ„¢ campaign founded and coordinated by PRODOS, individuals in other cities around the world asked to join in and celebrate Capitalism Day.

Originally, Capitalism Day was held on the first Sunday of December. At the request of Northern Hemisphere supporters, this was changed to the first Sunday of JUNE.
